Decorating herself with jewelry and having a white
lily as a symbol of virginity in her hand, Salome
is going to start sensual dancing in a dark palace
to get the head of John the Baptist. Gustave Moreau,
who was a symbolist producing unique fantasies under
the themes of myths and the Bible, interpreted Salome
in the New Testament as "a woman of the destiny"
who led men to their ruin . That influenced the
art at the end of the century in various fields.
